Family Fun

Check out what we did on Sunday when Chris's family came to celebrate all the happenings in May: Mother's Day (belatedly), Eliza's birthday (see previous insert) and Seth's birthday (this Tuesday). Sometimes you just have to cram all the fun into one day when work schedules don't allow multiple get-togethers in the month. ;)

First priority:

The Food!!!

We had a variety of sandwiches to take full advantage of the nice weather for our picnic lunch. These adorable sandwich wraps were such a hit (and they were extremely tasty, too!). Seth couldn't get over the mini umbrellas on the "grass" (spinach leaves). We also had chicken salad on croissants and cucumber sandwiches on artisan bread (that was more of an appetizer). Drinks were simple: ice water with lemon slices or tropical punch kool-aid (classic!).

And for dessert? Strawberry shortcake. Yum.
Second priority:
Grandbabies!!! Mikelyn has gotten SO chubby since we last saw her a few weeks earlier. Such an adorable 5 month old!
Checking out the camera....cool.
Shade goddesses watching from underneath our overgrown trees. Chillin' with Nana (and Eliza moved RIGHT when the camera clicked).
Third priority:
Gametime!!!!
Wrestling to get to the ball while playing 500 in our backyard (I realize we need to water...it's on our to-do list!)
Fourth & Fifth (activities went together):
Spraying water and splashing in puddles! :)
I don't know why this muddy puddle of water was so fascinating, but even our neighbors kids came over and started splish-splashing!
Chris and Michael took advantage of the warm weather and decided to wash all of our cars. The birds in our neighbor's trees have been eating well, leaving their "discharge" all over our car. Rrrrrrrrr!!!!!
You can't really tell here, but Eliza is completely soaked after running through (and sitting) it afore mentioned puddle. Sigh.
Ahhh, so refreshing!
I LOVE WARM WEATHER!!!!
