What's in a Name?

Sometimes when I introduce myself to people I can't help but give them some education to remember me by. Some may think so I can bore them into remembering me (which is a bit ironic, if you think about it). I give them the origin of my name.

Natalie means "Christmas Child" or "Christ Child" and my due date was December 25th, 1980. I came three days later (I don't think I wanted to compete), but my parents always knew that if they had a girl with that pregnancy, they wanted to name her Natalie.
(Pause: As a sidenote, my mom was always VERY good at seperating Christmas celebrating from my birthday celebrating, which I have greatly appreciated since pretty much everyone else double-dips the gifts...doesn't matter now, but sure stunk growing up! Play)

Since I was young and learned the origin of my name, it's been a fun little hobby of mine when meeting fellow Natalie's to find out what her birthday is. Not in some creepy stalker way, but as a way to see how many other True Natalie's there are out there.

A lot have also been named after Natalie Wood, the actress, but I still only count them as true Natalie's if one: they know what their name means, and two: they were named because of it.

So, here's your challenge: How many true Natalie's to you know that have their birthdays around Christmas time (yes, I count anywhere from November to February).

And if that's no fun, here's another challenge for you: What's the origin of your name? Any special story behind your name?

Happy Birthday, almost birthday twin! :D I was due the 25th as well and I believe it was only my mom's pure stubbornness that kept me in for two more days! She also did really, really well with keeping the days separate. Always used birthday wrapping paper instead of Christmas and I always had a party. And an amazing cake!

I'm actually named after my two grandmothers, Dorothy and Lois...the only reason I've never legally changed my name to "Dori" (which is the nickname I was given at birth because my dad refused to allow me to be called "Dot"...thankyouverymuch, Daddy!)
