Husband Tag: Christopher Lee Martin-Natalie's Version

In response to a deprived husband who thinks that with all the time I've been spending on our "family" blog (which is mostly just me going off on tangents), there should be more posts about him, so here is the tag I copied from Kimber.

1. What is his name? Christopher Lee Martin, but usually goes by Chris (unless you're in the presence of his mom and then it's always Christopher. ALWAYS).

2.Who eats more? Usually I do (which still shocks people) unless he just finished karate or a police shift.

3. Who said I love you first? He did.

4. Who is taller? Chris, thank goodness. I can wear my tall shoes and he's STILL taller than me, which was one of my deciding factors for dating him. ;)

5. Who is smarter? Well, since this is MY version...it's pretty obvious.

6. Who is more sensitive? Totally me. Chris becomes an Ice Man when he's out patrolling (just ask his ever increasing group of hate club fans!) However, he's a complete softy when it comes to the kids, and I end up having to do the unpleasant things like cleaning noses and giving medicine. He'd much rather contribute by pulling them in close and cuddling with them.

7. Who does the laundry? I do unless he has some serious man-funk coming from his cop clothes and I haven't gotten around to the laundry yet.

8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I had to think about that one because it changes every time we move....currently it's me because it was closer to Eliza's bassinet. Now that she's in her crib, I'm STILL on the right side so I can easily access my bedside lamp, but Chris hates it so I guess we'll see.

9. Who pays the bills? OK. This is a huge debate in our household because I always answer ME, but according to Chris, he makes the paycheck so it's both of us. Since this is MY version, I still claim this one because I know where all of the money goes and make the payments. He has the easy part.

10. Who cooks more? Hah! It's OBVIOUSLY me, especially if we want variety and vegetables in our diet. If it were up to him, we'd have french toast for breakfast, boiled hot dogs for lunch (GAG!), and dinner (if he's feeling generous enough to make it for the rest of the family) is usually cheese on a slice of bread microwaved. Every day. Without a change.
Here is the follow up question to that: 10B. Who cleans up after cooking more? Do you seriously need to ask?

11. Who is more stubborn? It depends on the issue, but I'd have to admit me.

12. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? Again it depends on the issue, but he's always quick to apologize, though nothing tends to get resolved.

13. Who has more siblings? Me with 5 brothers, so I was already familiar with the weird smell that accompanies guys that you live with.

14. Who wears the pants in the relationship? Well...Chris unless he's wearing a kilt. ;) Actually, Chris has enough respect for my opinion (most of the time) that it's pretty much equal, though at times it varies according to the topic at hand. Ultimately it usually balances out.

15. What do you like to do together? Because I don't know who all's going to see this, I'll edit my comment....seeing movies and eating out (though you know what the obvious answer is!)

16. Who eats more sweets? ME, but I claim that I have no control over that because of the fact that my dad use to work for Hershey's and I'm use to always having ready access to candy.

17. Guilty Pleasures? He's a closet RPG nerd and knows the whole storyline of Star Wars...even what happens AFTER the movies (which I didn't know existed until I started dating him). No, he hasn't gone to any Sci-fi conventions because he admits that only weirdos go to those, but he's a little too knowledgeable of dorky things. At times it seems as if he'd rather nerd it up with his friends than spend time with the family because he can sit on "man pelts," drink Pepsi and play computer/video games to his heart's content. Until he gets a phone call from his nagging wife, but playing until 4 in the morning is totally out of control for a father with two little kids!

18. How did you meet? This is going to be fun to answer since this is the Natalie (and most accurate) version of this question.
1 May 2000 I started working for Floral Classics, the local flower shop in Rigby and was learning the ins and outs of the trade. One of the tasks that we use to do were the flower arrangements for Broulim's grocery store cooler in Rigby. As the new girl they assigned that task to me. Enter "Produce Boy" as my friends knew him for years as. Chris had to sign the invoices of the flowers I'd bring over, but I didn't think too much about him because I was overwhelmed with everything that my college-fried brain needed to remember. All I remember of the initial introduction was that he was in the back chopping up some fruit or vegetable, I shook hands with him and thought that he had nice lips but was probably married. That's it. I also remember that my watering can could get water from the little sink next to him and I turned it on with a knee lever.

19. Who asked whom out first? Continuing from the epoch above, he did but he needed a lot of prompting. As the month of May wore on and I would check on the flower arrangements or add to them, Chris would suddenly be right there stocking the salad case which was coincidentally next to the flower cooler. He'd always act surprised that I was at the cooler as well and would just make idle chit-chat. After A WHOLE MONTH OF THAT, his idle chit-chat finally steered towards movies, and then he got the courage to ask if I had seen any good movie lately. I said that I just saw Mission Impossible 2 and really enjoyed it. His face fell and he admitted that he wanted to take me to that movie, but I responded with, "There are other movies out there" (call it sympathy, or whatever). We saw U571, but that's another story for another time!

20. Who kissed whom first? He proudly admits that he stole the first kiss, because (according to him) we never would have kissed so he knew that he had to steal it.

21. Who proposed? OK, technically he never did because it was just assumed since I already had all of the wedding plans decided by the time he came home from Scotland. He CLAIMS that he did but it was the lamest proposal ever (he didn't even get down on his knee), so I don't really count it.

22. His best features and qualities? He's an amazing father and husband. He has his rough spots just like everyone else, but he has to put up with mine so there you go. He'll change poopy diapers (trust me, a greatly desired trait) and actually likes to be the one to put the kids to bed when his work schedule allows him to. Some of his best features have already been mentioned, like the fact that he's great in stature and has amazing lips. Our kiddies inherited that last trait from him and I think they're both going to be tall! He also gives AMAZING massages, but we won't go into anymore detail about that. He tells me that I'm hot even when I'm not wearing make-up or extremely pregnant, and I know that he only has eyes for me (though Eliza turns his head every so often when she's being particularly cute!).
