Whoa, talk about an unintentional leave of absence!!!

I've been so busy living, I've forgotten to document the memories like I would have liked, so here are a few, random pics of the youngest Martin being all adorable.


I really want to make a post about the food storage challenge I gave myself and how successful it was, so that's my next blogging goal!






He loves the exersaucer that has gone through all three kids, sometimes excitedly rocking it all crazy like!
And then he loves the little parts for munching....like Seth's samurai sword in the background he got at the last ear appointment he had for being good?

Literally, he's such a doll sometimes. ;) It was almost too hard to pick him out from the other dolls Nana has.

But in the end, he needs his rest just like the best of us. He just looks so darn cute accomplishing it!

He's already 8 months old with 6 teeth and an obvious healthy appetite. Lately he starts to dance when he hears music by rocking his shoulders and arms back and forth as he bops his head in time with the tunes.

I haven't been able to successfully capture it yet, but continue to get the biggest kick out of my little boy.

Liam has his Daddy's lips, but for once, he looks more like me and my side of the family then like his older siblings who take after their daddy.

The Reason I Haven't Posted In Awhile....

From Day 1 Liam has been absolutely wonderful. I call him my little gnome baby since he looks a bit like an old man.

Here are a few pics of Liam's first few days in the hospital and arriving home:

And straight into a baby carrier. I love this Anaju wrap. I'm borrowing it from our Idaho Babywearers lending library, and don't know if I can give it back anytime soon because I love it so much.

It's made from bamboo and organic cotton (who knew bamboo could be made into fabric?!) and is SO soft and stretchy. It's my favorite newborn carrier.

Snug as a bug!


You'd think with all this sleeping I'd still get things accomplished...yeah, stay tuned for the next post on how well that's working for me.

At 4:08 p.m.

And he is precious! Mommy's doing great and Daddy has been wonderful.

It started out as a good idea...

....but then reality set in.


I hadn't repainted my toenails since the pedicure I got with my mom over a month and half ago, so I took advantage of the kids sleeping or playing, and decided to join Chris on the couch while he polished his patrol boots.

From a distance they don't look too bad, but why so messy?

The culprit:

A bulging belly that protested with kicks every time I tried I tried to paint a toe. I leaned over, pulled a leg up, angled from the side, you name it. The little kicker did NOT want my leg anywhere near him!

Just a few weeks to go, though I have to admit, he hasn't been NEARLY as violent of a kicker as Seth and Eliza were. A part of me will miss the belly personality, but the after effect of a newborn will be worth it!

The Newest Martin Will Be....

Seth gets a little brother to beat up on and play cars with while Eliza is going to be well protected by her big and now little brother.

From the start I had an inkling that this baby was a boy, so it looks like my intuition didn't fail! Right when we got in the car this morning, Chris suddenly had misgivings and changed his guess to a girl, but he is SO excited for another brother boy.

He really wants to give him a Scottish name like Hamish while I haven't had any boy names stand out to me (but especially NOT Hamish!)

But, we have another few months yet, so hopefully we come to an agreement by then.

Sugar n Spice or Snips n Snails?

We find out tomorrow whether the newest Martin will be a boy or a girl, so I'll post it as soon as we find out...if I can figure out how to do that on our fancy new droid eris phones we got since mine caught the cancer and went septic, but that's news for another post.
