I've heard about Lady Gaga, but had NO clue what I was getting myself into when my brother and then MY MOM told me to watch her most recent music video.
Here's the cleanest version I could find since she's has some pretty naughty choreography in the video which is meant to depict a futuristic Russian bathhouse. OK... They showed me the orginal music video and I'm still recovering. Obviously.
Mom gets the biggest kick out of her CGI eyes in one sequence and then the burnt bed at the end while Nathan loves her shoes and outfits. All of them.
HUH?!
It's like Lady Gaga's the love-child of Fifth Element and Taken writer Luc Besson and Madonna!
I'm fully aware that she's not the first musician to be extreme (take your genre pick!) but I really don't know what to make of it all...
I have to admit, she's incredibly talented , but I just get the case of the weirdies when I watch her videos (yes, they had me watch a few of them to prove that her "style" is always....well, like that).
I asked them if she's ever done anything "normal," just to shake things up a bit, and Nathan went into this whole speech about how she always felt like a freak growing up, so now she portrays that insecurity in her music so that fellow freaks can find someone that'll relate to them.
OK...that explains enough to still leave me perplexed. Especially when he showed me this clip of before she went Gaga:
This last clip further explains why she is the way she is while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Personally, I guess I'm not freaky enough to feel like a kindred spirit with her, though I have to admit, she has very catchy music. I just don't think I want to watch anymore of her music videos for awhile...
