Seth's Christmas Talk

Seth was asked to give a two minute talk to other little kids in church today.

The topic was "Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World," but it's also the last Sunday before Christmas, so we made sure to tie it in with the season.

Here's what it was suppose to be, read by Seth:

"In a few days, we will get to open presents for Christmas. We also get to remember the first present of Christmas, which was the baby Jesus.

Heavenly Father was so excited to bring His Son to earth that he had angels sing when Jesus was born...

...and a new star shone on the whole world.

Just as this new star shone over everyone on the earth, so is Heavenly Father's gift to us, His Son, Jesus Christ, a gift for all mankind as the Savior of the world.

May we all remember the first Christmas gift as we open our presents this week that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World."

Merry Christmas to you all; in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Pretty cute, right?!
Seth was so excited to get up to the podium and speak to the primary children. We had some "presents" that he opened during the talk that had an angel, baby Jesus in the manger, and a star. He spoke nice and clear into the microphone, got to the part about angels singing, then suddenly stopped.

He hopped down, ran to the door, and took off. Chris was in the back of the room holding Liam, so he followed him, directly to this door:

Not knowing what else to do, I finished Seth's talk for him while he was taking care of business, trying not to laugh.
When you gotta go...

Seth...what can you do?! I guess the potty bug was contagious because the other little speaker had to dash off to the restroom as well right after he started his talk as well! Sigh.

Maybe we could have Seth redo the talk for my family when we go over there for dinner tonight.

Well, may we all remember to answer when nature is calling, but take time to remember the first Christmas gift this year...our Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. :)

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Chris's Theme Song

It takes awhile for Chris to get ready for work.

He straps on 30 lbs of gear, boots he keeps polished to the point where you can see your reflection in them (literally), adds his brass and keeps his uniform pressed and ironed.

Because of all that time, he needs something to get him in "the zone," so he has a specific radio on Pandora that he listens to. But his favorite "getting into character" tune is Bad Company, covered by Five Finger Death Punch

A few days ago I was upstairs with the kids and suddenly heard him belting away to this as he strapped on his ballistic vest. It was hilarious!

He loves his job.

Seth the Robot

I've really enjoyed watching The LXD on Hulu (but the 2nd season or sequel is kinda scary) and Seth enjoys Chapter Three:Robot Lovestory the most:

I thought he'd get scared with the insane dancers, but he thought they were funny with their fluffy hair, running into things. He now thinks he's a robot because of the main character:

One of my favorites from the first season is Elliot's Shoes (Harry Shum, Jr is one of the main choreographers for The LXD but you may also recognize him from GLEE)

Nothing like a little dancing during the winter to keep the spirits up!

Why So Serious?!

No, this isn't the Heath Ledger's replacement for the next Batman installment.

This would be the result of a little girl thinking that she was perfectly capable of putting make-up on all by herself.

When I showed her what she looked like in the mirror, she made herself cry because the end result was NOT what she was expecting, and got scared at the face looking back at her.

Serves her right!

Making Faces, Part II

I took Seth and Eliza to the park one evening where they had a blast playing on the jungle gym and swings. It was a bit windy, so I stayed next to the car with Liam. Pretty soon we were having a face-making contest (he won) as seen below:

And where was Daddy?

Working Security at the State Fair.

Fun times to be had all around, though I think I got the better end of the deal!

Making Faces

Deep in thought as Liam contemplates how to save (or rule) the world.

Looking a bit like a beardless gnome, this was the clearest I could get the picture. He was SO squirmy!

Trying to decide if he still wants to eat or go to sleep.

Booby drunk (couldn't think of a more edited way to say it!)

Looking a bit like he just got away with something...or had gas.

Pucker up, sweetheart!

Tee, hee!

And.....Cut!
That's a wrap, people.

I need to get out of here!

The perfect commercial for the cabin fever we're feeling right now.

I especially love the cheese puff residue on the gnome.
